How To Write An eBook That You Can Sell To The Hoards: Step 1 Finding Your Topic

How to write an eBook That You Can sell

If you are interested in creating a successful business on the Internet, one of the best ways is to write your own eBook. There are millions of people searching the Internet daily for information, and if you can provide them with quality answers to the questions they have, they are more than willing to pay you for it.

There are so many people who want to write an eBook (and the world desperately needs your knowledge) but they never get around to writing it. People think that it’s too hard to write or they don’t know what to write about. It really isn’t that difficult to do if you apply a few basic principles. I will be showing you a simple system for writing a non-fiction eBook.

I am not going to go into the technical aspects of producing an eBook because once it’s done the rest is pretty straight forward.

Never before has there been such an opportunity with eBooks. Anyone can write a book for literally no cost and sell it around the world. And it’s been made possible by technology and the Internet.  With the cost of production virtually nil, producing your book requires very little money to start. There are no publishers or agents to think about. There are no distribution issues as eBooks are instantly downloaded directly on to the buyer’s computer, eReader or other device that the purchaser is using. This happens at any time of the day or night and you receive immediate payment into your bank account.

Thousands of people around the world are making incomes, small and large from eBooks that they have written. The good news is that the market is growing by the day. Amazon already sells more eBooks now than it does paper books. This upward trend is growing rapidly, day by day, month by month and year by year. This is great news for new authors.

A word of caution here! With the rise of eBooks on the market there has also been a rise in rubbish eBooks and buyers are now very wary of what they purchase. If the reader thinks it’s ‘crap’ they will hit the ‘refund button’ very quickly.

So, for your eBook to become successful and for you to be known as a trusted author and expert, you have to offer something of genuine quality and value. You will not only stand out in your market, but your customers will come back for more… they will even ask you for more.

I know you’ve got valuable information inside of you. I know that you have something worthwhile to say. You know you have quality information that can really help others and make a positive difference in their lives.

Let’s brainstorm some opportunities here to help you to define what you eBook could be about. What is your experience? I want you to make some notes and write down what that experience is. Whether that experience has been your education from elementary through high school, through college or university, or through any trade school, write down any experience you gained from your education. What about work? If you are working or are retired, what experience did you gain from work? In your previous jobs, or current jobs, what is it that you have learned, the knowledge that you have. Believe me, if you are saying to yourself right now, “I don’t know or I don’t have any experience or I don’t have any knowledge,” then you are wrong. You could not have managed to get through life and be where you are today without some knowledge, some experience, or some systems that you developed.

Let’s take this a bit further to help you brainstorm even more. What are your hobbies or interests? What is it that you love to do? Do you like sports? Do you like race cars? Do you like sewing or arts and crafts? Do you like scrap booking? Do you like pets or cooking, or perhaps dancing or singing? Perhaps you like playing a musical instrument, or going camping or travelling? What are you hobbies and interests? Do you like to play golf? Do like to work out or go hiking?  Is health an interest … exercise, nutrition, or spiritual? The possibilities are limitless. What are your hobbies and interests?

Here is another question for you to ponder if you are struggling with your topic. What are you passionate about? Are you passionate about your current profession and what you are working on right now? Are you passionate about your family? Are you passionate about your sport? Are you passionate about your beliefs or your faith?  Are you passionate about your hobbies? What are you passionate about?

Do you have systems, short cuts, and strategies that can be shared with others?  Now, as you have gone through your journey of life, I am sure you do. Your parents have taught you systems or ways of doing things.  Your teachers have taught you systems.  Other mentors have taught you that and perhaps friends have taught you short cuts as well.  Everybody has something inside of them that somebody else wants or needs to know and they are happy to pay for it.

Write down everything that comes to mind. Nothing is right or wrong just write it down and move on to Step 2 where we will look at researching the market and the viability of the market.
